I recently had cataract surgery at Optivue and I would like to thank you and the staff for the great job you did! The staff always had smiles on their faces and they were always there to answer any questions I might have. They even watched my daughter Mazie during one appointment! She had so much fun with the staff she didn't want to leave and cried all the way to the car! You have a great group working for you.

Now to you, Dr. Martin; when it comes to a person's eyes...it can be very unsettling to hear that you have cataracts and that surgery is needed. But your incredible "chair side manner" made me feel at ease and realize I was in good hands.

Wow what a life changing event having my LASIK surgery!!!! For one, I felt so honored that Dr. Martin and the gang at OptiVue would want to this for me!

The experience is just something you don’t get a lot of these days- excellent service, kind and really caring people, and friendships.

I was totally impresses with the rapport which all the staff clearly displays with not just me but with everyone. I was a bit nervous- only cause with me if something can go wrong it usually does. But that was not the case at all.

Dr. Martin thoroughly discussed my treatment options and the procedure so that I would fully understand what was going to happen before, during, and after the surgery.

I am thrilled! Everyone was wonderful! I even brought them Panera for breakfast the morning of my follow up appointment. I don't know what you did but it worked! I have been raving about it! All my sports buddies keep calling to check on me and I am raving about Dr. Martin, the staff, and how they let my wife watch the surgery. I can see already!

I got my first pair of glasses when I was in sixth grade. I remember I couldn’t see the board very well. I don’t remember if I got tested privately or if the school did it, but eventually it was discovered that I needed glasses. So fine. It’s what you do. You went and got glasses, it was the highest technology, the latest thing!

Over the years how many pair did I buy? I don’t know…100… 150? How many did I lose? 100…150? How many did I scratch? 100… 50? How many pairs of sunglasses did I have to buy that were prescription because I couldn’t just go to the drugstore and buy a pair? I fixed all of this about 6 months ago with OptiVue.

Optivue has the single most advanced laser technology out there. Dr. Martin and his whole staff live and work right here in the Toledo area. They don’t come in from somewhere else and do a couple surgeries and then leave and say oh we can get you next Tuesday when we’re back in town. A lot of these places do this, but not OptiVue. Go in and talk to them about CustomVue, which is what I had and lose the glasses.

OptiVue is the place I’ve talked about since I had LASIK surgery done. There are obviously lots of places that you can get this done, but let me ask you a question. Wouldn’t you want to go to a place that’s done ten-fifteen thousand of them? Dr. Martin and I were joking around before my surgery and I said, “Now you’ve done this before?” and he laughed and said, “Yeah, we as a group have done about 16,000 of them.”

I think Dr. Martin himself has done around 10,000. Enough that he probably knows what he’s doing. It’s bladeless LASIK surgery. It’s the latest technique. Talk about vision that you don’t have to worry about because you can get the CustomVue which comes with lifetime enhancements. If you need a little tweaking 5 years later it’s included. They offer financing, too. And they do this all right here in Toledo. They don’t come in from Cleveland or Cincinnati do a few surgeries and go home. This is home, and that meant a lot to me.

Did the lake thing - out to Maumee Bay. Before we left my wife and I went through our checklist- cooler CHECK- sun block CHECK- beach towels CHECK- glasses NOPE don’t need ‘em. Went to OptiVue for laser vision correction and until then I never knew how nice it was to not wear glasses in the summertime. It’s amazing just to be able to buy sunglasses off the rack. Prescriptions are so expensive. But I stopped at the drugstore on the way to the lake, and nine bucks later I’m out of there with UV protection.

What a life changing experience! Talk to Dr. Martin about CustomVue- that’s what I did. No more contacts to keep up with, no more solution, no more getting sand in your eyes, no more glasses to lose, drop, sit on, step on, or break. For the first time since I was in sixth grade I did not have to wear glasses on the beach. All because of Dr. Martin and bladeless LASIK at OptiVue.

Had Lasik the other day.....Where do I begin. When I worked in Detroit years ago, I was offered lasik and said.... "No way, something tells me you should not mess with your eyes" and yes, I'll tell you I was so scared. So I did it. Those people at OptiVue were incredible.

I have made about 10 new friends....I love you Dr. Martin!! I love you Kells!! I love you Jen and Stacy and Matthew (Blue eyes) and Shelly!! I have been half blind since I was 8 years old. When I sat up after the 5 minute procedure, I read the sign across the wall and started to cry......I do believe it was one of the most powerful experiences of my life.

If you are thinking about it and have questions, I will set you straight. Being able to see is one of the most beautiful things in life. I had one of theeeeeeee most awesome thing happen to me the other day..... I got Lasik on my eyes. I really did cry when it was done....it was that moving, I mean were talking about our eyes here.

I had an op to have this done years ago and did not feel right with the Dr. When I went in Optivue, I really fell in love with everyone there. Shelly-Kelly-Matthew-Jen. AND DR.MARTIN, I LOVE YOU!!!! I know it sounds cheesy, but the most incredible thing is to wake up and see MY ALARM CLOCK WITHOUT FIRST LOOKING FOR MY GLASSES!!! YIPEEEEEE!! You will hear me talking about this for a while peeps.

I knew that Dr. Martin was the only doctor I wanted to do Cataract Surgery on me because I had seen so many good results on other patients. I was treated very professionally by the nursing staff. I had a follow up call from Dr. Martin the night of my surgery. It wasn't a nurse, but the doctor taking time to call me at home and check to see how I was doing. That meant a lot to me. My vision was good the same day of surgery. I experienced no pain or blurry vision. Very happy with the whole experience.

The surgery was very easy was over before I knew it. Dr Martin and all the staff were great. Everything was explained day of surgery by the nurses as what they we giving in medication before surgery and after surgery everything was explained what to do at home.
It was nice as both Shelly [my daughter] and my husband watched the surgery which I think educated them both.
I would recommend the multifocal lens. Kathy Armstrong [a surgical counselor with OptiVue] was very helpful in explaining about the surgery and what to do prior to surgery to get ready.

When my cataracts were diagnosed and became operable, I was fully confident of Dr. Martin’s surgical skill and had observed the high level of patient care received by all patients of the ASC. The surgical staff is a highly trained, experienced team that takes great pride in each of their responsibilities and the care I received could not have been any more responsive, caring or complete.

I was aware of the multi-focal lens that can now be implanted during cataract surgery and did choose the lenses recommended by Dr. Martin. Although it does take some time for each patient to adjust to the new lenses, I was very pleased with my results.

It has been a year and a half since my surgery and I remain free of the need for glasses. Since I am an accountant, I spend most of my day reading either a computer screen or little numbers on a printed page - all easily handled with my new eyes. I would confidently recommend Dr. Martin and his associates for anyone requiring cataract surgery or any other ophthalmic care required.

I was pleasantly surprised that my vision was so good immediately post op!! Doctor said with AST vision gets better with time and I guess I assumed I would still be “blind” post op! What a great job and business you have. I left seeing better than I had since I was 10 years of age. People must think you are gods! Thank you!

I wish I had done this LASIK surgery sooner than I did. It was the most painless surgery. It was so quick… seven seconds of laser on the one eye and thirteen seconds on the other eye. It was amazing to me that when I awoke from the 4-5 hour resting period that I could lay on the couch and read the time on the VCR, as well as on ESPN- the bottom headlines that scroll across. I would highly recommend LASIK surgery!

The whole process was just awesome. Everyone was knowledgeable and friendly. The waits were never very long and the facility is clean and comfortable. The procedure itself was more wonderful than I expected.
It was quick, efficient, and I experience absolutely no pain or discomfort during or after the procedure. I did not expect to walk out of surgery already able to see without my glasses.
